Job description

About the role

Qdrant is an open-source vector search engine used in AI applications such as semantic search, RAG, AI agents and real-time recommendations. As its first Senior Technical Success Manager hire in Australia or Japan, you will report to the Director of Customer Success and act as the technical face of Qdrant in the APAC region, working with Account Executives, Support, Forward Deployed Engineers and Solutions Architects across several time zones. Most of your time supports customers already running Qdrant in production; the rest covers new deals, partner work and first-line technical questions in APAC hours.

Key responsibilities

  • Own strategic APAC accounts end to end, from onboarding through production, scaling and expansion, and run health checks and architecture reviews.
  • Work directly with customer engineering teams on deployment, configuration and performance tuning across Qdrant Cloud and self-hosted Kubernetes environments.
  • Provide first-line technical support in APAC hours, resolving most questions yourself and escalating edge cases with clear diagnostics.
  • Set expectations with demanding customers, negotiating scope, priorities and customization requests while keeping engineering, IT and security aligned.
  • Support Account Executives on new opportunities and proofs of concept, and help regional partners position and deploy Qdrant.
  • Bring field feedback to Product and Engineering and help shape the playbooks and processes for the region.

Required profile

  • 6+ years in customer-facing technical roles (Technical Account Manager, Technical Success Manager, Solutions Architect, Solutions Engineer or Forward Deployed Engineer) at an AI, data or database infrastructure company.
  • Experience supporting a technical evaluation as well as running long-term customer relationships.
  • Enterprise maturity: confident negotiation with engineering, IT and security teams, and the ability to push back carefully on requests that do not serve the customer.
  • Self-sufficient, able to make good decisions alone in a startup environment, and able to occasionally join early or late calls with Europe and US teammates.
  • Based in APAC, ideally Australia, with clear English communication.

Required skills

  • Hands-on cloud-native infrastructure: Kubernetes, Terraform and at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure).
  • Nice to have: direct experience with vector search, search engines, RAG and agentic AI applications in production.
  • Nice to have: experience as an early or first hire building a regional presence for a startup or scale-up.

What we offer

  • A competitive salary with additional perks.
  • Flexible working hours and an async-friendly culture.
  • High ownership and real impact in an open-source, engineering-driven culture.
  • Choice of your own laptop equipment.
  • US-based full-time employees receive a benefits package including 401k match, health, dental and vision insurance, plus flexible PTO.
