Senior Tax Accountant / Team Leader

About the role

Traction Financial is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant who will also lead a small team. The position combines hands‑on technical tax work with responsibility for workflow, mentorship and process improvement in a boutique firm based in Subiaco, Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of tax compliance and reporting for a portfolio of SME clients.
• Review and finalise financial statements, income tax returns and Business Activity Statements (BAS).
• Manage workflow, set priorities and ensure deadlines are met across the team.
• Support tax planning initiatives and conduct internal technical reviews when required.
• Collaborate with client managers and senior leadership to achieve high‑quality client outcomes.
• Mentor junior staff, provide guidance and help develop their technical capabilities.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in tax accounting, preferably within an Australian context.
• Proven ability to lead and develop junior team members.
• Strong organisational skills and a drive to improve systems and processes.
• Desire for greater influence and a clear pathway to broader leadership.
