Accountant – Cost Accounting & Financial Support

About the role

This is a hands‑on Accountant position with an ASX‑listed gold producer, supporting corporate finance and interstate mining operations. Based in the modern Subiaco office, you will report to the Financial Controller and work across cost accounting, month‑end reporting and operational finance support.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain project cost centres, ensuring accurate coding and allocation of costs.
• Prepare site cost reports, operational KPIs and supporting analysis.
• Support stockpile, ore‑in‑circuit, gold‑in‑process and metal‑accounting models.
• Track capital expenditure, commitments and accruals.
• Maintain fixed‑asset information and assist with depreciation and amortisation.
• Assist with annual budgets, rolling forecasts and month‑end journals.
• Complete balance‑sheet reconciliations and support trial‑balance and financial‑reporting processes.
• Assist with audit requirements, GST, BAS, payroll tax and royalty reporting.

Required profile

• Experience in month‑end, journal preparation and balance‑sheet reconciliation.
• Exposure to cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory or capital expenditure.
• Accounting, finance or commerce degree; CA or CPA qualified or working towards qualification.
• Current driver’s licence and full Australian working rights.

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with Pronto, Pulse or comparable finance systems.

What we offer

• Permanent, full‑time, office‑based role in Subiaco.
• Salary $110,000 – $130,000 per year plus superannuation, commensurate with experience.
• Occasional interstate site travel with required site‑access induction.
