Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

Valles Accountants is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join its Melbourne office. This full‑time, on‑site position will manage complex tax compliance and preparation for a diverse portfolio of individuals and businesses, delivering strategic advice aligned with client objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual and business tax returns, schedules and associated documentation.
• Provide tax planning and advisory support, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
• Analyze financial statements and oversee tax‑related accounting entries.
• Liaise with tax authorities as required.
• Mentor and review work of junior team members.
• Collaborate with partners and other professionals to deliver accurate, timely advice.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in tax compliance, tax preparation and complex individual/business tax matters.
• Solid accounting knowledge, including preparation and review of financial statements.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field; CA or CPA accreditation highly regarded.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple deadlines while upholding professional ethics.
