Senior Tax Accountant (AU)

About the role

The Senior Tax Associate will work closely with partners, directors, managers and other accounting professionals to deliver taxation, financial and business advisory services to a diverse client portfolio. The role involves virtual collaboration across time zones, especially with Australian‑based teams and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns (individual, partnership, trust, company, IAS/BAS, FBT) and activity statements.
• Handle bookkeeping, payroll processing and STP reporting using Xero.
• Manage workflow, ensure quality control of documentation and provide mentorship to junior staff.
• Communicate effectively with clients during Australian business hours and support remote team collaboration.

Required profile

• CPA with 3‑5 years of accounting or local taxation experience, preferably with international tax exposure.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, able to work under pressure.
• Experience serving medium to large private businesses and high‑net‑worth families.
• Ability to supervise, develop and train junior team members.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Xero and MYOB accounting software.
• Experience with CaseWare and advanced Excel.
• Knowledge of payroll processing, STP reporting and Australian tax regulations.
• Familiarity with virtual communication tools such as Microsoft Teams.
