Senior Tax Analyst

About the role

This is an opportunity to move from a Big 4 corporate tax environment into an in‑house position with a high‑performing Australian financial services firm. You will join a small, tight‑knit tax team and gain full exposure to the company’s corporate tax cycle from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review income tax returns, tax provisions and tax effect calculations for the group.
• Manage BAS/GST, FBT and other indirect tax compliance obligations.
• Provide tax advisory input on new business initiatives, transactions and commercial decisions.
• Support year‑end and half‑year tax reporting alongside the finance team.
• Assist with ATO reviews, information requests and correspondence.
• Contribute to process improvements and strengthen the tax governance framework.

Required profile

• Background in corporate tax from a Big 4 or mid‑tier chartered accounting firm.
• Experience with financial services or ASX‑listed clients is ideal but not mandatory.
• CA or CTA qualification, or working towards it (handy but not essential).
• Detail‑oriented, organised and able to juggle multiple deadlines.

Required skills

• Solid technical knowledge of Australian corporate tax compliance.
• Strong tax accounting expertise, including BAS/GST and FBT.
