Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Emergency Physician)

About the role

Gold Coast Health is seeking an Emergency Physician to join its Emergency Care Services. The role provides clinical specialist emergency medicine support to the Emergency Department and the Hospital in the Home (HITH) service, contributing to a culture of medical education and safe, patient-centred clinical practice. The position is based mainly at the Robina or Southport campus, depending on the outcome of the interview.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical specialist emergency medicine support to the Emergency Department and HITH service
• Contribute to the development of a culture of medical education and safe, effective patient-centred clinical practice
• Work within an after-hours and on-call roster for the ED and/or HITH service

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, plus FACEM or equivalent acceptable to the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, and registration as an Emergency Medicine specialist with AHPRA
• Evidence of vaccination against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, pertussis and hepatitis B, or ability to be vaccinated; TB screening to determine whether the TB vaccine is required
• Declaration of any serious discipline history
• Certified copies of qualifications and registration submitted before starting clinical duties
• Experience in general medicine, telemedicine, community outreach or HITH, and previous experience in similar services or telehealth/virtual care, is well regarded

What we offer

• Senior Staff Specialist base salary from $266,839 to $282,912 per year, or $127.85 to $135.55 per hour; Staff Specialist from $223,136 to $259,187 per year, or $106.91 to $124.18 per hour
