Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mental Health - Mother Baby Unit)

About the role

Gold Coast Health (GCH) is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mental Health - Mother Baby Unit) to join its 14,000-strong team. The role sits within the Mother and Baby Community team, which provides specialised, inpatient-based multidisciplinary mental health services for mothers with acute and complex perinatal psychiatric conditions, up to 12 months post-partum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide assessment, diagnostic formulation, treatment planning, discharge planning, consultation and case management for mothers with acute and complex perinatal mental illness
• Coordinate access to medical, social, educational, vocational and psychosocial supports that promote recovery
• Manage complex clinical cases and exercise independent professional judgement within scope of practice
• Liaise with consumers, families, health professionals, students, researchers and the community to ensure integrated care and successful community reintegration

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in Nursing or equivalent
• Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, pertussis and hepatitis B, or ability to be vaccinated and stay vaccinated
• Tuberculosis screening, as GCH will cover the cost of criminal history screening for new employees
