Senior Software Engineer - Front End

About the role

Join Qantas’ new Product Innovation Centre in Adelaide to create seamless digital experiences for airline customers. This full‑time, permanent role focuses on cutting‑edge front‑end technology and engineering principles, delivering robust, scalable systems that meet evolving customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and lead the architecture, delivery and development of front‑end systems that power Qantas’ digital products.
• Ensure software quality, reliability, performance, security and data‑privacy while meeting business outcomes.

Required profile

• 6+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience, preferably building high‑traffic customer‑facing web applications.
• Strong passion for user experience, browser performance, accessibility and continuous improvement.
• Ability to mentor junior developers and take ownership of delivered solutions.

Required skills

• JavaScript, React JS, Server‑Side Rendering (SSR), Micro Front Ends, HTML, CSS, CSS Modules.
• Cloud platforms: AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda) – preferred.
• Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes.
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), version control (Git), automated testing.
• Observability tools: Splunk, Datadog.
• Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Edge Delivery Services (desirable).
• GraphQL data consumption (desirable).
