Senior Site Manager – HV Substation, Transmission Line & BESS

About the role

This is a site‑based leadership position responsible for delivering a large‑scale high‑voltage (HV) infrastructure project that combines a substation, a 275kV transmission line and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on the Fraser Coast, Queensland.

Key responsibilities

• Lead execution across multiple concurrent work fronts in a SIMOPS environment.
• Manage subcontractor performance, progress claims and cost to complete.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and craneage against a detailed programme.
• Champion a zero‑harm safety culture, overseeing SWMS, permits and high‑risk work controls.
• Act as the primary site interface with client, network provider, engineers, designers and commissioning teams.
• Mentor supervisors, engineers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate pre‑commissioning, testing, energisation and handover.

Required profile

• 15+ years experience in HV substation construction (132kV‑500kV preferred).
• Proven delivery of large‑scale infrastructure or BESS projects.
• Track record managing complex, multi‑disciplinary site operations with multiple subcontractors.
• Electrical trade or engineering qualification preferred.
• HV switching or access authorisation desirable.
• White Card, current driver’s licence, Cert IV WHS, CPR, LVR and First Aid.
• Relevant tickets such as EWP and forklift.
