Senior Risk and Audit Specialist

About the role

Flinders University is looking for a Senior Risk and Audit Specialist to join Information and Digital Services (IDS). Reporting to the Senior Information Security Audit & Risk Lead, you will help strengthen governance, risk and compliance across a complex digital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and continuous improvement of IDS governance, risk frameworks, policies, processes and standards.
• Provide advice, reporting and support to governance forums, leadership teams and stakeholders to improve risk, audit and compliance outcomes.
• Collaborate with IDS teams to align audit, risk and compliance activities with operational priorities and strategic objectives.
• Contribute to the development and management of governance, risk, audit and compliance models for informed decision‑making.
• Undertake secretariat responsibilities for key IDS governance committees and coordinate related actions and communications.

Required profile

• Significant experience in governance, risk, audit or compliance roles within a complex environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to identify risks and deliver practical recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing and building effective relationships.
• Experience developing, implementing or supporting governance frameworks, risk management processes and reporting activities.
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications or equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience.
