Senior Purchasing Officer

About the role

The Senior Purchasing Officer will join Cement Australia’s Purchasing Team, converting purchase requisitions to orders in SAP and managing end‑to‑end procurement for operating sites. You will work closely with site stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate delivery of goods and services.

Key responsibilities

• Convert requisitions to purchase orders and manage the Procure‑to‑Pay cycle in SAP MM.
• Coordinate overseas purchases, freight quotes and delivery tracking.
• Manage the centralised inbox, allocate tasks to Purchasing Officers and oversee master data.
• Drive process improvements, standard procedures and training.
• Support shutdown preparation, contract management and stakeholder engagement with freight companies.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years’ purchasing experience, preferably in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Strong relationship‑building and vendor‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive, engaging attitude with high work ethic.

Required skills

• High‑level proficiency in SAP Purchasing (SAP MM).
• Experience with international freight and freight quoting.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office suite skills.
