Senior Psychologist - Cancer Care (Bundaberg)

About the role

Queensland Health is recruiting a Senior Psychologist for its Cancer Care Support Team at Bundaberg Hospital, within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The role provides expert psychological support to people affected by cancer, helping patients and their families navigate emotional challenges, build resilience and improve wellbeing. It also contributes to service development, education and research in the work unit.

The position requires a significant level of independence and personal accountability, including independent professional judgement in problem solving and clinical management, and the ability to manage a complex caseload beyond routine day-to-day practice without regular clinical supervision. It is a temporary full-time position of 76 hours per fortnight, running from 4 January 2027 to 23 April 2027 with the possibility of extension.

Required profile

• High-level psychology knowledge, clinical skills and clinical expertise
• Leadership, consultation and professional supervision capabilities
• Ability to exercise independent professional judgement and manage a complex caseload
