Senior Project Manager – Strategic Portfolio

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of critical projects within the Strategic Portfolio for municipal infrastructure and services. Reporting to the Program Director, the role involves coordinating internal and external partners to turn strategic ideas into tangible community benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate, plan and deliver complex projects from concept through design, specification and service delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project and consultancy teams to meet timelines and quality standards.
• Support early market‑involvement phases and provide specialist technical advice across planning and infrastructure programmes.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, standards, policies and processes.
• Provide project‑management advice, options and recommendations to achieve desired outcomes.
• Analyse and resolve technical issues, manage and mitigate project risks.
• Prepare regular project reports and conduct robust data analysis.
• Promote a high‑performance culture focused on safety, wellbeing and organisational principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, urban and regional planning or a related discipline.
• Proven experience leading strategic, high‑value projects or programmes in community infrastructure, regional development, policy, planning or related fields.
• Strong understanding of policy development, governance frameworks and stakeholder engagement.

• Competitive salary ranging from $121,839 to $156,527 per annum (AUD) plus superannuation.
• Fixed‑term contract until 29 October 2027 with the option of a 9‑day or 10‑day fortnight.
