About the role
Makinson d'Apice Lawyers, a law firm based in Sydney and Brisbane, is looking for an experienced litigation lawyer with at least 6 years of post-qualification experience. The role covers a wide range of litigation and dispute resolution matters, mainly on behalf of defendants including commercial insurers, and combines court work with alternative dispute resolution.
Key responsibilities
- Handle general liability, professional negligence, intentional torts, employment, discrimination, privacy, vicarious liability and school-law matters
- Manage both litigated and unlitigated matters, including court appearances and alternative dispute resolution
- Conduct files independently with a manageable file load, with guidance from the supervising partner
Required profile
- Minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience
- High-quality lawyer who enjoys the detail and complex defence work
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously with a manageable workload
Working arrangement
- Part-time, with 3 to 4 days per week remote
- Travel to Sydney when needed
