Senior Operations Manager – Core Banking

About the role

ING is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to lead Core Banking technology operations, ensuring the health, stability, security and performance of critical banking applications. The role reports to the Technology Area Lead and works closely with technology and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality services.

Key responsibilities

• Triaging, prioritising and overseeing resolution of operational incidents, service requests and technology risks while meeting SLAs.
• Owning the tribe’s IT risk and controls framework, driving remediation, governance and continuous compliance.
• Managing patching, vulnerability and security remediation processes to maintain a secure environment.
• Partnering with technology and business teams to prioritise initiatives, communicate performance and drive service improvements.
• Developing lifecycle management and operational roadmaps to keep technology assets secure and fit for purpose.
• Coaching and developing team members to foster a risk‑aware, high‑performing, automation‑focused culture.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in financial services, preferably in core banking or large‑scale technology operations.
• Strong technical background in IT engineering, software development and cloud technologies.
• Proven expertise in IT risk, operational controls and agile delivery within a regulated environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in technology, information systems or engineering.
