Senior Medical Receptionist – Launceston Clinics

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our Launceston radiology clinics. You will manage patient interactions, appointment scheduling and administrative duties while supporting less‑experienced staff.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients and callers professionally and courteously.
• Schedule and confirm appointments, handling changes and cancellations.
• Maintain confidential medical records and ensure accurate storage and retrieval.
• Process patient payments (cash, EFTPOS, direct billing) and invoice Medicare, private health funds, TAC, DVA and WorkCover.
• Handle internal emails, inquiries and communication with referring doctors and hospital staff.
• Keep the reception area tidy and manage the roster to cover leave periods.
• Uphold privacy and confidentiality protocols for all patient information.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a medical receptionist or call‑centre role (highly desirable but not essential).
• Excellent verbal communication, patience and empathy.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and flexibility to work autonomously or as part of a team.
