Senior Manager – Specialised Credit (Private Bank)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Specialised Credit (Private Bank) to lead a team of credit specialists within Group Risk, supporting strong credit quality and portfolio outcomes across our Private Bank business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of credit specialists to deliver timely, high‑quality credit decisions and strong portfolio outcomes.
• Provide expert credit risk insights and contribute to governance forums to support effective decision‑making and policy adherence.
• Build team capability through coaching, mentoring and development, creating a high‑performing and engaged team environment.
• Strengthen portfolio management practices and improve the quality of credit proposals and risk outcomes.
• Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across the Private Bank business and broader organisation.
• Champion a strong risk culture and ensure compliance with credit policies, frameworks and standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance credit risk management practices.

Required profile

• Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate competing priorities in a complex environment.
• Advanced credit assessment, decision‑making and risk management expertise across portfolios.
• Highly developed analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess complex credit scenarios and identify risk implications.
• Excellent communication skills, including experience preparing and contributing to executive‑level papers and presentations.
• A continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to identify policy gaps and drive positive change.
• Ability to adapt leadership style and judgement to evolving business needs and changing credit environments.
• Experience leading teams through change while fostering an open, positive and high‑performing culture.
• Deep knowledge of credit policies and portfolio risk frameworks (highly regarded).
