About the role
The Senior Manager, Day of Operations leads live train crewing operations for Sydney Trains, ensuring safe and reliable service across a 24/7 roster. Based at the Rail Operations Centre in Alexandria, you will work in a fast‑paced environment connecting millions of passengers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver all aspects of train crew resourcing, allocation and liaison for the Sydney Trains network.
- Drive transformational change and implement strategies, plans and projects for continuous improvement and risk mitigation, including incident recovery and degraded mode operations.
- Manage a rotating 8‑hour shift roster, providing coverage across weekends and public holidays.
Required profile
- Senior leadership experience in day‑to‑day operations within a complex, live 24/7 environment such as rail, logistics, or emergency services.
- Proven ability to maintain stability in volatile settings, make decisions and resolve performance issues impacting service reliability.
- Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating shift roster and meet Category 4 medical requirements.
