Senior Licensing Advisor

About the role

The Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA) is recruiting multiple Senior Licensing Advisors for ongoing and fixed-term positions (up to 2 years). The Licensing Branch runs VECRA's licensing and approvals functions, including licensing teams, enquiries handling and risk-based regulation. As a Senior Licensing Advisor you will use regulatory expertise to make licensing processes effective and efficient, develop and improve them, mentor staff and advise internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and review licensing applications and notifications, and conduct fit and proper assessments of individuals.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient licensing processes.
• Provide expert regulatory advice and recommendations, and help improve licensing operations.
• Mentor and develop staff, and engage with stakeholders on licensing matters.
• Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, sensitive environment while keeping a focus on quality and compliance.

Required profile

• Sound experience in, and understanding of, regulatory and licensing processes.
• Flexibility and adaptability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills, and stakeholder management.
• Ability to advocate for VECRA's interests and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
• A valid Working with Children Check is essential; preferred applicants may also be asked to complete a police check.
