Senior Lawyer, Whistleblowing

About the role

ANZ is seeking a Senior Lawyer to lead its whistleblowing function. You will provide commercial, practical and strategic legal advice on the statutory whistleblowing regime, supporting senior management across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercial, practical, strategic and timely legal advice on the whistleblowing regime to senior management and executives.
• Develop and maintain subject‑matter expertise, monitoring legislative and regulatory changes and sharing updates.
• Proactively manage legal and regulatory risk, responding swiftly to developments in the law.
• Assist with commercial or employment litigation as required within the dispute resolution and employment team.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external law firms to support business priorities.

Required profile

• Post‑qualification experience in commercial law, preferably from a major Australian law firm or comparable in‑house team.
• Background in commercial litigation or employment law.
• Self‑driven, proactive attitude with a willingness to develop expertise in whistleblowing legislation.
• Strong leadership, presentation and influencing abilities.
