Senior Intelligence Analyst, Intel and Threat Assessments

About the role

The Senior Intelligence Analyst will join ANZ’s Financial Crime Threat Assessments team to identify and analyse emerging financial crime threats. You will gather intelligence from multiple sources, assess risk exposure and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen the bank’s control environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide analysis and insights that inform risk‑management decisions and drive operational efficiencies.
• Conduct investigations of customers suspected of financial crime and communicate findings to compliance, operational stakeholders and senior executives.
• Engage with law‑enforcement and regulators through formal forums, ensuring compliance with information‑sharing requirements.
• Analyse financial, behavioural and open‑source data to detect patterns of money‑laundering, terrorism financing and other organised crime.
• Produce high‑quality threat assessments that clearly communicate findings and mitigation recommendations.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics to diverse audiences.
• Experience designing and conducting qualitative or quantitative research to identify patterns and insights.
• Background in data analysis, analytical tools and data visualisation techniques.
• Understanding of compliance and operational risk frameworks within a financial‑crime context.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an agile environment.
