Senior Industrial Designer

About the role

Breville is seeking a Senior Industrial Designer to lead design execution on complex product projects within its New Product Development team in Sydney. The role combines strategic thinking, hands‑on design work and mentorship of junior designers.

Key responsibilities

• Own design‑led thinking and execution across complex projects, balancing desirability, viability and feasibility.
• Mentor junior designers, contribute to team culture and help define Breville’s future design direction.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, PDMs and suppliers to resolve detailed design challenges and ensure smooth hand‑over to production.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Industrial Design or a related field.
• 10+ years of product design experience with a track record of leading complex projects.
• Strong commercial awareness, independent work style and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Expertise in CAD, Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, casting and sheet‑metal fabrication.
• Experience with user research, usability testing and intellectual property documentation.
