Senior Health & Safety Advisor

About the role

EY is looking for a Senior Health & Safety Advisor (locally called Health & Safety Manager) to join its Risk Management function. You will help EY Oceania meet its regulatory obligations and support its people and business in delivering quality services to clients. The role is hybrid and can be based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney, and may be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours.

Key responsibilities

• Support oversight and assurance activities to ensure compliance with internal requirements and external obligations.
• Manage the development, implementation and continual improvement of the Safety Management System, including measuring its effectiveness.
• Prepare governance reports, executive briefings and performance metrics, and lead internal and external Health & Safety audits and reviews.
• Work with stakeholders to identify, assess and mitigate health and safety risks linked to client engagements and firm activities.
• Oversee incident reporting, investigation and corrective action, including analysing incident trends and emerging risks.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or a related field.
• Minimum of four years' experience in risk or compliance; professional services experience is an advantage.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of risk management and compliance management principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience managing multiple projects at once.
• Analytical, problem-solving and business acumen, with excellent verbal and written communication.
