Senior FP&A Analyst – Mining Finance

About the role

Sandfire is seeking a Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst to join its global finance team. Reporting to the Group FP&A Manager, you will support executive decision‑making by delivering robust financial planning, performance analysis, and commercial insights across operations in Australia, Botswana and Spain.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the Group’s annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles.
• Consolidate financial plans from global operations and corporate functions into Group reporting packages.
• Analyse key business drivers, trends and variances against budget, forecast and prior periods.
• Provide financial analysis to Executive Leadership to inform strategic and operational decisions.
• Prepare Board presentations and reports supporting budget approval and performance updates.
• Monitor financial and operational KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve business performance.
• Support quarterly market reporting, investor communications and external disclosures.
• Coach business partners to build financial capability and improve commercial decision‑making.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation of forecasting, reporting and analytical processes.

Required profile

• Commerce or Business undergraduate degree.
• CA/CPA postgraduate qualification or equivalent technical qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience in FP&A or management accounting, preferably within the mining sector.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional and geographically dispersed teams.

• Advanced analytical and variance analysis capabilities.
• Experience preparing Board‑level reports and presentations.
• Ability to translate financial data into actionable commercial recommendations.
