About the role

Join the Tax Consulting Team within the Business Consulting Services division of Nexia Edwards Marshall. This newly created hybrid role blends traditional tax work with business services, offering strategic tax advice and client partnership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide proactive, tailored strategic tax advice and develop client relationships across diverse industries.
• Research, analyse, and resolve technical tax issues, including tax consolidations, small business CGT, and SME restructuring.
• Prepare financial statements and tax returns for various structures and assist with ATO reviews, governance matters, and audits.
• Work with the ATO to obtain rulings and guide clients on GST, CGT, international tax and other taxation law aspects.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in tax advisory or taxation consulting within an Australian accounting practice or law firm.
• Dual qualification in Accounting & Law is ideal, with strong technical tax knowledge and planning experience.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills and ability to build strong client relationships.

Required skills

• Tax consulting expertise (GST, CGT, international tax).
• Financial modelling and tax calculations.
• Preparation of tax returns and financial statements.
• Experience with ATO reviews, rulings, and audit support.
