Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Lycopodium, a global engineering and project delivery services provider with offices in Australia, Africa, Canada and the Philippines, is recruiting an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join its Perth-based team. Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the role plays a critical part in delivering accurate financial and statutory reporting, supporting strategic decisions and improving the Group Finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate, timely consolidated monthly financial and management reports across the Group.
• Provide financial analysis, variance reporting and commercial insights to support strategy and business performance.
• Prepare half-year and year-end statutory financial statements in line with ASX reporting obligations and accounting standards.
• Coordinate external audit requirements and liaise with auditors.
• Oversee taxation and statutory compliance, including BAS, FBT, PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and income tax.
• Support operational businesses with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, working capital and performance measurement.
• Drive continuous improvement in reporting, systems, controls and governance, collaborating with global finance teams.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline, with a CA or CPA qualification.
• Experience in a Senior Financial Accountant or comparable role in complex corporate reporting environments.
• Strong analytical and commercial judgement, able to turn financial data into business insights.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels of an organisation.

Required skills

• Financial accounting, statutory reporting, consolidations, taxation and Australian accounting standards.
• Advanced Excel and ERP systems; SAP S/4HANA experience and exposure to engineering, construction, EPCM or project-based industries are highly regarded.
