Senior Finance Manager - Financial Controller

About the role

As the Financial Controller for Qantas Loyalty, you will safeguard the integrity of financial reporting across a complex, commercial portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Finance – Planning & Performance, you will lead a high‑performing team in a dynamic, fixed‑term environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end, half‑year and year‑end close processes, delivering accurate and timely financial statements.
• Maintain balance‑sheet governance through reconciliations, reviews and attestations of key accounts.
• Coordinate statutory reporting and preparation of legal‑entity financial statements.
• Serve as the primary finance contact for internal and external audits, managing audit activities and remediation.
• Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies, Australian Accounting Standards and governance requirements.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on new initiatives, commercial arrangements and transactions.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial controls, governance frameworks and risk‑management processes.
• Partner with Group Finance, Treasury, Tax and Shared Services to meet reporting and compliance obligations.
• Lead end‑to‑end financial governance of partner onboarding, billing and payment processes.
• Develop and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• 8+ years of experience in financial control, reporting, audit or corporate accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proven track record leading month‑end, half‑year and year‑end reporting cycles.
• Experience preparing or reviewing statutory financial statements and legal‑entity reporting.
• Deep understanding of financial controls, governance and risk management.
