Senior Field Technician - Sydney Metro

About the role

nbn is looking for a Senior Field Technician based in the Sydney Metro area. Working as part of a Field Services team, the role sits at the intersection of Service and Network operations, covering network infrastructure as well as work in customers' homes and businesses. It is a hybrid, permanent full-time position. Successful candidates must be willing and able to join a rotating night shift roster.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end service to homes and businesses across Australia, from installation to repair and maintenance
• Work across the HFC network, including inside and outside plant activities such as amp swaps and upgrades, fault finding and noise chasing
• Provide timely, high-quality outcomes and an exceptional customer experience
• Travel to work locations across the Sydney metropolitan area as required, within the 7am-7pm timeslot

Required profile

• Extensive experience working across the HFC network, including inside and outside plant, plus fibre network assurance, fault finding and installations
• ACMA licence, preferably supported by a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Telecommunications
• Current and clean Australian driver's licence
• Full working rights in Australia
• Ability to work the required hours and travel to work locations, and to participate in a rotating night shift roster

Required skills

• HFC inside and outside plant experience, including amp swaps, upgrades, fault finding and noise chasing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Customer service attitude, problem-solving and comfort working to tight deadlines
