Senior Executive Assistant

About the role
The Senior Executive Assistant provides high‑level, confidential support to the Public Guardian in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. You will act as a proactive problem‑solver, helping to maximise the Guardian’s time, effectiveness and productivity while modelling best practices for the Executive Office.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive executive and administrative support to the Public Guardian and ad‑hoc assistance to other senior executives.
- Operate autonomously, using initiative to resolve complex issues and adapt processes for practical solutions.
- Mentor junior executive support staff, providing on‑the‑job training and fostering collaboration.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage workflows, act as an authoritative source on departmental processes, HR, finance and policy.
- Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and new ways of working.
- Handle confidential and sensitive matters with tact and discretion.
- Demonstrate cultural capability and support OPG’s engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

- Strong initiative and ability to work independently in a complex environment.
- Excellent judgment, discretion and professionalism when dealing with confidential information.
- Proven mentorship experience and collaborative mindset.
- Effective relationship‑building skills with diverse stakeholders.
