Senior Engineer – BRA Track

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer, BRA Track to join our Engineering and Maintenance Delivery team. Reporting to the Principal Engineer Track & Civil, you will provide engineering expertise to manage track asset defects, risks and remediation activities, ensuring safe, compliant and reliable operation of critical rail infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage track asset defects, remediation activities and conduct risk assessments.
• Prepare impact notices and supporting evidence for asset‑related triggers.
• Coordinate the close‑out of Agreed Remediation Plans (ARPs) and defect management activities.
• Support delivery of maintenance programmes, technology uplift projects and asset improvement initiatives.
• Analyse defect trends and asset performance data to inform maintenance and reliability strategies.
• Assist with the completion and integration of critical infrastructure works to improve operational performance and safety.

Required profile

• Experienced Civil Engineer with extensive expertise in passenger rail infrastructure, track maintenance and asset management.
• Background in defect management, reliability enhancement and maintenance planning, with strong knowledge of rail engineering standards and asset management systems.
• Collaborative, solutions‑focused professional passionate about delivering safe, high‑performing rail assets and building strong stakeholder relationships.
