Senior Director Tax

About the role

The Senior Director Tax will lead the Tax Division of a mid‑tier accounting firm in Sydney, providing strategic tax advice to a diverse portfolio of domestic and international clients. This senior position offers a fast‑track path to partnership for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall tax services leadership across the firm and to clients.
• Deliver complex tax advisory and compliance solutions for multinational, listed, large private groups and SMEs.
• Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring timely delivery and high‑quality outcomes.
• Lead business development activities and build strong client relationships.
• Liaise with the ATO, handle tax audits and coordinate with external advisers.
• Mentor and coach junior staff, fostering talent development within the practice.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of tax experience in a Big 4 or mid‑tier accounting firm.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, CTA or equivalent.
• Master’s degree in Taxation or related field is preferred.
• Proven track record in complex tax transactions and advisory work.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and judgment skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
