Senior Director, Organisational Resilience

About the role

Optus is seeking a Senior Director of Organisational Resilience to lead the evolution of its enterprise resilience capability. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Property, Resilience & Security, you will ensure the organisation can anticipate, respond to, and recover from major disruptions while maintaining critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and enhance Optus' enterprise crisis management and business continuity frameworks.
• Oversee enterprise‑wide Business Impact Analysis (BIA) activities and continuity planning.
• Drive crisis and emergency management preparedness through simulations, exercises, and executive rehearsals.
• Provide strategic resilience advice and leadership during significant incidents and crises.
• Monitor organisational resilience maturity and support compliance with regulatory and critical infrastructure obligations.
• Build resilience capability through training, awareness, and continuous‑improvement programs.
• Lead lessons‑learned reviews and implement sustainable improvements after incidents and exercises.

Required profile

• 10–15+ years of experience in business continuity, crisis management, resilience, risk or related disciplines within large, complex organisations.
• Experience in regulated industries or critical infrastructure environments.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead in high‑pressure situations.
• Degree in Business, Risk Management, Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
