Systems Administrator & Network Engineer for BCS Program

About the role

Boeing is seeking a network and systems administration professional to join the Battlespace Communication System (BCS) program in Brisbane. The role supports the software development environment and software deployment to the Systems Integration Facility.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Linux systems administration tasks including user account management, provisioning, inventory tracking, monitoring and triaging.
• Lead planning, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of a complex networking environment.
• Create and maintain infrastructure and software development environment documentation.
• Participate in regular software deployments to the Mission System Test and Integration Facility.
• Engage with stakeholders and engineers to continuously improve the development environment.
• Conduct ad‑hoc testing within the Systems Integration Facility as required.
• Contribute to environment automation using infrastructure‑as‑code concepts.
• Review pull requests and provide feedback to DevOps and development staff.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship to meet defence security requirements.
• Strong knowledge and proven experience with Linux operating systems, system administration, virtualization and networking/IP stack.
• Solid experience with IP networks, routing, NAT, IPv4/IPv6, subnets, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VLAN/VxLAN.
