Senior Systems Engineer – Telecommunications Infrastructure

About the role

The Senior Systems Engineer will design, implement, automate, monitor and support critical telecommunications infrastructure that underpins carrier‑grade network services. You will ensure high availability, reliability, security and performance of systems supporting network operations, customer services and business‑critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and support highly available infrastructure for telecom platforms, including production, disaster‑recovery and testing environments.
• Administer enterprise‑scale Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments and manage OS lifecycle, patching and compliance using Red Hat Satellite.
• Develop automation solutions with Ansible and Python to streamline deployments, configuration and operational processes.
• Manage VMware vSphere infrastructure, perform capacity planning, performance tuning and ensure high availability.
• Create and maintain Grafana dashboards, monitoring and alerting for systems, applications and telecom platforms.
• Support MySQL databases, including backup, recovery, replication and performance optimisation.
• Provide senior escalation support, root‑cause analysis and on‑call coverage for 24x7 operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in systems, infrastructure or platform engineering, preferably in a telecom, ISP or carrier environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux, virtualization, authentication and database technologies.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture reviews.
