Senior Consultant – Transport Planning

About the role

Shaping tomorrow’s cities begins with how people and goods move. As a Senior Consultant in Urbis’ transport planning team, you will provide strategic, end‑to‑end advice to government and private‑sector clients, tackling a variety of challenges across active, public, freight and private modes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a broad range of transport planning services, including land‑use/transport integration advice, approval processes and project management.
• Apply transport planning principles and demand analysis to deliver clear guidance on network design, due‑diligence assessments and master planning.
• Assist with forecasting, project budgeting and financial management.
• Contribute to the delivery of strategic transport advisory projects and national initiatives.
• Coach and develop team members as required.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Transport Planning, Traffic Engineering, Transport Management, Transport Economics, Geography, Urban/Town Planning or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a consultancy or local/state government environment.
• Strong technical understanding of transport planning frameworks, controls and processes.
• Proactive attitude with a proven track record of managing projects and mentoring staff.
• Collaborative mindset, passion for purpose‑led work and ability to innovate when solving complex problems.
