Senior Consultant – Transfer Pricing – Financial Services

About the role

EY is seeking a Senior Consultant to support financial services clients with transfer pricing compliance, model design, and dispute resolution. The role involves working across banking, capital markets, wealth management, insurance, payments and private equity sectors, and can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane on a hybrid schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with ATO transfer pricing reviews and audits, applying economic principles.
• Develop and implement global transfer pricing policies for multinational financial services firms.
• Negotiate Advance Pricing Arrangements and prepare Mutual Agreement Procedure applications.
• Analyse international tax policy impacts and advise on Australian transfer pricing implications.
• Model cross‑border debt, trading arrangements, return on assets and profit splits.
• Prepare compliance documentation, data files and models for client obligations.
• Project‑manage multiple engagements to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery.

Required profile

• Proven transfer pricing experience in a top‑tier accounting firm, corporate tax practice or legal environment.
• Strong drafting ability and capacity to apply facts to transfer pricing legislation.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear recommendations.
• Leadership and teamwork capabilities, building trust quickly with clients and colleagues.
• Commercial acumen and awareness of legal, economic and political factors influencing transfer pricing.
• Relevant qualification such as Economics, Accounting, Law, CPA or CA.
