Senior Consultant – Indirect Tax

About the role

BDO is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its growing Indirect Tax team in Queensland. You will work on a variety of public and private sector engagements, providing expert advice on GST, fuel tax credits, stamp duty, land tax and payroll tax.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality indirect tax advice and support across diverse client engagements.
• Formulate and articulate technical positions on complex and emerging indirect tax matters.
• Draft client advice and technical deliverables with minimal review.
• Review work prepared by junior team members and support their technical development.
• Build trusted relationships with clients through regular interaction and meeting participation.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in indirect tax within professional services, a law firm or government.
• Degree in Law or a dual degree with Law and Business/Commerce.
• Strong technical capability with confidence applying legislation and guidance commercially.
• A collaborative mindset and interest in supporting the development of others.
