Senior Consultant - Financial Modelling

About the role

KPMG's Deal Advisory and Infrastructure practice is recruiting a Senior Consultant in Financial Modelling, based in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney. The Financial Modelling team builds robust, best-practice models to support client analysis and decision-making, and the team is growing. Working from home, office or client hubs, you will help clients solve complex commercial and investment challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Develop best-in-class financial models to support strategic decisions and valuations across sectors and asset classes
• Review financial models behind some of Australia's largest and highest-profile transactions
• Develop and provide financial analysis to interpret model outputs and give clients meaningful insights
• Work on projects such as major investment decisions, greenfield developments, project financings, business cases and transaction engagements
• Manage client engagements or discrete workstreams, coaching and developing junior staff and client resources
• Receive tailored learning and development from experienced financial modellers

Required profile

• Degree in a numerate field such as commerce, accounting, econometrics or STEM
• Progress towards or completion of a professional qualification such as CA, CFA or CPA is desirable
• Strong problem-solving, logical and methodical approach to challenges
• Experience working with clients or stakeholders and strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Motivated by continuous learning and deep technical expertise

Required skills

• Strong numeracy and high attention to detail
• Interest in converting complex logic processes into Excel-based model solutions
• Ability to break down unstructured problems into practical solutions
