Senior Compliance Manager – Financial Services Compliance

About the role

Block is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Leader to join the Line 2 Compliance function for Afterpay ANZ. The role is based in Australia and reports to the Head of Compliance, focusing on financial services compliance advisory, licensing, governance and framework support across Afterpay business units.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Compliance to ensure the Compliance Function and Risk Management Framework operate effectively and meet regulatory expectations.
• Lead the Compliance Framework and Program, maintaining policies, standards and procedures.
• Maintain Afterpay's Australian Credit License, including governance, oversight and annual ASIC compliance certificate submission.
• Manage monitoring, reporting, audit and testing activities, and report to regulators, Board and governance committees.
• Lead projects to assess, implement and monitor new regulatory obligations.

Required profile

• 10+ years experience in compliance and risk within Australian financial services.
• Deep knowledge of financial services regulation, including consumer credit, BNPL, payment systems, AML, consumer protection and anti‑bribery.
• Experience with regulatory interactions, investigations, audits and managing action plans.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.

Required skills

• Expertise in maintaining financial services regulatory licences.
• Ability to build and maintain compliance frameworks for regulated products.
• Proficiency in managing compliance risk assessments, incident management and reporting.
• Data‑focused analytical skills and experience using innovative tools such as AI to improve compliance outcomes.
