Senior Case Manager - Offender Supervision

About the role

The Senior Case Manager ensures a high level of community safety by managing offenders in the community in line with their assessed risk and need, while maintaining high standards of offender assessment practice. The role supports effective supervision and improves the reintegration and rehabilitation of high-risk sexual and violent offenders.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out initial and progressive risk and program suitability assessments, prepare high-quality assessment documents and verify and quality-control them
• Interact directly with a caseload of high-risk sexual and violent offenders, identifying their risks and needs
• Develop plans to meet court and parole board order conditions and promote behavioural and attitudinal change
• Monitor compliance with orders and take breach action in line with prescribed procedures
• Coordinate and monitor the implementation of offender management plans and provide timely advice to courts, boards and other agencies
• Act as an officer of the Court and exchange information with the Queensland Police Service and other government agencies
• Maintain secure, accurate and accessible case notes and intervention reports
• Conduct drug testing of offenders and keep accurate statistics
• Support peers and junior or geographically displaced staff through peer verification, mentoring and coaching
• Nurture a supportive team culture and mentor entry-level case management staff

• Ability to work in some of Queensland's most isolated communities
• Emotional resilience to self-regulate personal challenges in remote settings
• Commitment to investing in the community and understanding remote protocols, including the multicultural offender profile
