Senior Administration Team Leader

About the role

The Road Policing Enforcement Division (RPED) manages traffic camera availability so that speed and red-light offences can be detected, acting as a deterrent to dangerous driving. It issues Road Safety Camera Infringements and works with road safety partners and camera network providers. The Senior Administration Team Leader manages the day-to-day administration of their portfolio within RPED, including supervising the team, and joins a team of VPS and sworn staff. The position is a full-time, 3-year fixed-term role based at Victoria Police Centre, Docklands, though other locations may be required.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, supervise and carry out the unit's administration and/or personnel functions, including mentoring, performance management and training coordination.
• Investigate and analyse issues and recommend improvements to standard operating processes.
• Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage the flow of active files so tasks are completed on time in line with legislative and procedural requirements.
• Carry out administrative, auditing, financial and purchasing transactions, and prepare briefs and reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Experience in a leadership capacity, such as coaching and developing staff.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex legislation and policy.
• Proven ability to work in a team and to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Australian citizen, permanent resident or holder of a valid work permit or visa.

Required skills

• High-level problem solving and strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written.
• Strong computer skills.
