Senior Actuarial Analyst – Managing General Agent

About the role

Join AIG as a Senior Actuarial Analyst supporting Managing General Agents (MGA) across Australia and New Zealand. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, influencing pricing, profitability and portfolio management.

Key responsibilities

• Support proactive portfolio management to ensure sustainable profitable growth.
• Develop and implement best‑practice monitoring tools covering top‑line metrics and key lead indicators.
• Assess profitability and develop new or refine existing pricing/rating models using advanced analytics.
• Conduct detailed profitability studies, budget loss ratios by segment, and due‑diligence analysis for new MGA opportunities.
• Engage with underwriters, functions and MGAs to provide strategic direction and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative field.
• Prior experience in general insurance.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
• Professional behaviour with high integrity and strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Programming in Python, R or SQL (advantage).
• Database extraction and manipulation skills (advantage).
