Senior Accountant - Public Practice

About the role

An established professional services firm in Geelong is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant. The firm focuses on building genuine client relationships and delivers accounting and taxation services. The role involves managing accounting and tax work across an allocated client portfolio, taking files through to final review while keeping a high standard of technical quality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, tax returns and client files through to final stages
• Manage workflow and proactively progress jobs through the review process
• Liaise directly with clients on compliance queries, tax planning and ongoing advice
• Take part in client meetings as required
• Review completed work and identify value-add opportunities
• Identify efficiencies across workpapers, documentation and compliance processes
• Maintain strong technical knowledge of relevant taxation requirements

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified, or working towards completion
• Public practice accounting experience
• Experience managing client relationships and deadlines
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, client-focused approach and a desire to contribute to a positive team culture

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge across taxation, compliance and advisory
• Technical knowledge of relevant taxation requirements
