Senior Accountant - Infrastructure Finance

About the role

ACCIONA Infrastructure delivers major civil, transport, water, tunnelling and building projects across Australia and New Zealand. This Senior Accountant role sits within the Finance function, employed through GEOTECH PTY LTD, and supports the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting as the business grows its infrastructure delivery pipeline. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will own month-end and year-end close, prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations and statutory reporting, and provide technical accounting expertise across the business. You will also lead and develop two direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements and reconciliations
• Deliver statutory and regulatory financial reporting requirements
• Guide and develop two direct reports
• Partner with budget managers on forecasting and variance analysis
• Strengthen internal financial controls and compliance
• Support audit activity and provide technical accounting advice

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent, completed or nearing completion
• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably in a medium to large organization

Required skills

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, taxation requirements and internal control frameworks
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
• Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis techniques
