Senior Accountant – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term in Sydney

About the role

ESR Group is seeking a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join its Sydney team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and Head of Finance, supporting month‑end activities and driving finance process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end closing tasks and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Lead ad‑hoc projects aimed at improving efficiency and creating capacity within the finance team.
• Collaborate with senior finance leaders to roll out finance process improvement initiatives.
• Integrate AI tools into accounting workflows while maintaining data privacy, security, and quality standards.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualification.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and documentation abilities, coupled with high professionalism and integrity.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience using AI tools in finance and an understanding of data privacy and quality assurance principles.
