Senior Account Executive - Mining

About the role

Gallagher, a global leader in insurance broking, risk management and consulting, is looking for an experienced insurance broker to manage a dedicated mining portfolio while collaborating with account managers across a range of complex accounts. The role is based in Perth, Western Australia, and involves acting as a trusted advisor who delivers tailored risk solutions and negotiates with insurers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with mining clients
• Own a client portfolio (renewals and support) together with the account manager
• Assess risk and design tailored insurance solutions
• Negotiate with insurers to achieve optimal outcomes
• Build strong partnerships with underwriters
• Give input on portfolio budgets and business plans and help track progress against goals
• Support new business growth through pipeline development

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of related experience; a license is required
• At least 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within the mining sector (not essential)
• Previous experience in a similar insurance or broking role is highly regarded
• Professional designation such as CPCU, CIC or ARM preferred

Required skills

• Tier 1 insurance broking qualification
• Strong account management with attention to detail
• Excellent sales capability and outstanding verbal and written communication skills
