Sales Manager – Australia & New Zealand

About the role

Saft is seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to lead its business across Australia and New Zealand. You will be responsible for driving growth of advanced battery and energy‑storage solutions, building strong customer relationships and shaping the commercial strategy for the region.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor market trends, regulatory changes and emerging applications to anticipate opportunities.
• Develop and maintain long‑lasting relationships with customers at all levels, from engineering to C‑suite.
• Define and execute a commercial go‑to‑market strategy, including customer mapping, competition analysis and action planning.
• Identify new business opportunities across the full portfolio of applications and nurture leads.
• Lead contract negotiations with legal support, covering terms, guarantees and payment conditions.
• Provide input for bid strategy, pricing and risk assessment, supporting the Bid & Application Engineer.
• Own order and margin targets, delivering concrete plans to meet or exceed them.
• Track sales activities in the CRM, forecast orders and report progress.
• Coordinate market communication activities such as seminars and exhibitions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in engineering.
• 5–10 years of sales and marketing experience with technical, complex or turnkey solutions, preferably with utilities, IPPs, developers or industrial customers.
• Strong knowledge of grid and renewable‑energy markets; familiarity with energy‑storage and power‑conversion systems is a plus.
• Proven ability to drive the full sales cycle from planning to closure.
• High energy, hands‑on mindset and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50 % of the time.
