Safety Coordinator

About the role

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, the Safety Coordinator works across office and site environments to support the Integrated Management System (IMS). The role focuses on maintaining compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards while promoting a proactive safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation and continuous improvement of the IMS.
• Assist with compliance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and WHS standards.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and task observations.
• Assist in incident investigations and drive corrective actions.
• Implement site‑level policies and procedures.
• Support project teams with risk assessments, SWMS and hazard identification.
• Deliver HSEQ training, inductions and toolbox talks.
• Promote hazard reporting and a proactive safety culture.
• Maintain accurate HSEQ documentation and records.
• Assist with return‑to‑work coordination and WorkCover processes.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety (minimum).
• Construction White Card (mandatory).
• Current Queensland driver’s licence.
• Experience on DTMR projects and in a similar HSEQ or WHS role (civil/construction preferred).
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively across multiple sites.
