Safety Continuous Improvement & Capability Advisor

About the role

Kapitol is seeking a Safety Continuous Improvement & Capability Advisor to turn lessons learned from incidents into practical change across its project portfolio. You will work as a roaming member of the Safety team, designing and delivering training that embeds safer behaviours on site.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Incident and Governance teams to capture key learnings from investigations.
• Translate findings into practical safety training, guidance, and improvement initiatives.
• Design, develop and deliver face‑to‑face and online safety training for diverse audiences.
• Identify capability gaps, embed changes into everyday behaviours, and track their impact.
• Support continuous improvement of safety systems, processes and capability across the business.

Required profile

• Strong background in safety, training, capability or continuous improvement within construction or another high‑risk environment.
• Experience designing and delivering practical safety training.
• Understanding of incident investigations, corrective actions and lessons learned.
• Confident facilitator able to engage site teams to senior leaders.
• Practical, curious and improvement‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• Ability to translate technical safety information into clear, engaging learning material.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (highly regarded).
• WHS qualification (highly regarded).
